Royal Hidden Passage in 2026: Loot, Stalnox, and My Bad Decisions
Listen, I have a confession: in 2026 I am still happily crawling through the grimy basement of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and I keep dragging friends into the Royal Hidden Passage. Why? Because it is a ridiculous little loot piñata stuffed with armor, ore, fairies, and one very bony boss who absolutely does not respect personal space. If you have finished your first regional temple, usually the Wind Temple, and you are back at Lookout Landing, this creepy tunnel is calling your name. Bring crushing weapons, bring Bomb Flowers, and bring a snack. You are going to be here a while. 🧱💥
First Stop: Jerrin and the Side Quest That Starts It All
Head down into the Emergency Shelter under Lookout Landing and talk to Jerrin. She has broken a hole in the back wall, which is honestly a mood, and she keeps hearing an ominous voice. That kicks off the side quest 'Who Goes There?' You do not strictly need the quest to explore, but picking it up gives you a nice breadcrumb trail and a reason to crouch into the darkness like a nosy little gremlin.

Past the first rock barrier, you hit a fork. The right passage is short and leads to the Horned Statue. Yes, that sinister rock from Breath of the Wild is back, and yes, he still has that 'trust me, buddy' energy. He lets you exchange a Heart Container for a Stamina Vessel or vice versa, so if you have been meaning to respec your health and stamina, this is your weird little chance.

Greaves, Like Likes, and My Ongoing Feud With Ceiling Monsters
Take the left path and get ready to break rocks like a caffeinated Goron. You will burn through weapon durability, so fuse rusty swords to rocks and do not cry when they snap. Eventually you reach a cavern with a Like Like stuck to the ceiling. I hate these things. They hang there like a cursed chandelier, then drop on you while you are busy being smug. Beat it, take the Opal, and keep moving.

Use Ascend or climb up the ledge, then push through the next passage. Watch out for Bomb Flowers, because swinging a stone weapon near them is a one-way ticket to boom town. After a room with Stone Pebblits, break the giant rubble pile on the left. That opens a small prison room with another Like Like and a chest holding the Soldier's Greaves. Congrats, your knees are now officially armored. 🛡️
Stalnox Time: Eye See You, Buddy
The main event is the Stalnox, a skeletal Hinox who wakes up after you smash the giant stone pile in the central cavern. This fight is not too bad if you remember one golden rule: aim for the eye. A good shot stuns it and gives you a free window to go wild. Watch for its grab attack and the big bone it throws. Keep moving, and you will be fine.

The arena is also a handy gear closet. You can find Knight's Halberds, Knight's Broadswords, and Knight's Claymores around here, so stock up if your inventory is looking sad. There are three exits: the way you came, a stone passage across from the boss arena, and another tunnel leading to blue rubble. Do not leave yet. The loot is not done with you.
Soldier's Armor, Helm, and the Sealed Gate Nonsense
Go across from the Stalnox arena and bust the rubble near the water. Bomb Flowers are practically mandatory here. Inside, an Ice Like guards the chest with the Soldier's Armor. Smash it, loot it, and feel extremely tactical.

For the Soldier's Helm, return to the Stalnox arena and take the blue rubble tunnel. Break through, grab Luminous Stones and Bomb Flowers, then smash another big stone pile. You will find a small prison with Stalkoblins and a sealed gate. To get behind it, go to the back corner cell with the boulder, use Ultrahand to remove it, drop down, loot along the path, and climb up the hole on the far side. Defeat the Stalkoblin, open the chest, and boom: full Soldier's Armor set. 🎉
Final Victory Lap: Fairies and the Bubbulfrog
On the way through the watery side path, keep an eye out for a small cave with fairies, Glowing Cave Fish, and a Tireless Frog. Catch what you can, then get back on route. Later, past an Electric Like that drops a Knight's Bow, you will find a Bubbulfrog lurking at the bottom of a pit. Slay it, snag the Bubbul Gem, and strut out of the Royal Hidden Passage like you own the place.
As of 2026, this route still feels like one of the best early-to-mid-game treasure runs in Tears of the Kingdom. It is dark, it is cramped, and it is full of things that want to eat me. But the Soldier's Armor set, the Horned Statue, and that shiny Bubbul Gem make it absolutely worth the trip. Just do me a favor: bring more Bomb Flowers than you think you need. Trust me, champ. 💣😅
